  • Allspice Essential Oil is also known as Pimento Berry Essential Oil or its botanical name Pimenta dioica. The warm, spicy aroma of Allspice oil is similar to that of clove and cinnamon essential oils. The high content of Eugenol is partly responsible for this similarity.

Allspice Oil is a wonderful oil to use in the diffuser during the fall and winter. If used at full-strength, it can be a potent mucous membrane irritant, so it is best blended at a low ratio with other essential oils before diffusing. Allspice Essential Oil's high Eugenol (a phenol) content suggests that Allspice may act as an anti-viral oil.

Allspice Essential Oil, in small dilutions, is said to act as an aphrodisiac. Its rich, warm aroma also complements masculine blends.

  • Anise Star Essential Oil has an aroma similar to black licorice. Star Anise Oil can be useful in diffuser and inhaler blends intended to help ease bronchitis, colds and the flu.

Star Anise Essential Oil may also be helpful in aromatherapy blends that are intended to help digestion and muscular aches or pains. Anise Star essential oil is believed to be helpful during a woman’s normal transition to menopause.

This oil is also helpful in relieving the feeling of having over-indulged at the dinner table. Anise Star can help smooth out the discomfort and fullness of a “bloated/tight tummy.”

Anise Star Oil (Illicium verum) is sometimes confused with Anise Oil (Pimpinella anisum) because both have similar names, both possess a similar aroma and both have similar, but not completely identical properties.

  • Basil Essential Oil, also called Sweet Basil Essential Oil, is derived from the leaves of the Ocimum basilicum plant, better known as the Basil herb. Basil essential oil provides restorative benefits to both the mind and body due to its high linalool content, making it an ideal application for sore muscles and joints and to reduce tension when applied to the temples and back of the neck.

Basil Essential Oil emits a warm, sweet, freshly floral and crisply herbaceous scent that is further characterized as airy, vibrant, uplifting, and reminiscent of the scent of licorice.

When used on the skin, Sweet Basil Essential Oil is reputed to nourish, repair, balance, calm, smooth, exfoliate, and brighten the complexion. When used in hair, Sweet Basil Essential Oil cleanses, refreshes, hydrates, softens, and strengthens the strands.
